Think Like A Lady - A Post for the Men (A Snippet)

Recently, I was presented with the topic: What Goes On in a Woman's Mind?  As you all know, Steve Harvey wrote a book which later became the movie "Think Like A Man", outlining exactly how men think. I thought I would help some of the men who haven't figured women out by now.

What is on our mind?

This can be broken down by situation. Women are emotional creatures, even if we portray a "tough as nails" exterior, we are and always will be nurturing and loving beings.

Women are simple : 1 part attention, 1 part compliments, & 4 parts emotion 

1. General Thoughts:

- Things we need to complete and how in the world we are going to get it done in time

- What is our significant other doing

- Keeping the balance between necessities and desires

       i.e. shoes that we think we need v.s groceries that we know we need

- If involved: how great or how horrible our sex life is

      Yes, we all think about sex, some women are less open about this subject, but if we aren't getting any or if the little bit we get is horrible...please believe it is on our mind ALL DAY LONG.

- Men

      Women spend hours, days, months, & years attempting to get inside the mind of a man. All this time and we haven't realized that it's nearly impossible. We are hardheaded, but determined!

2. What We Need:

- ATTENTION

        HELLO? If you haven't noticed this by now then you never will. Women live off of attention...Some women need attention for verification! Others simply want the attention of one person, while some seek attention from anyone willing to give it.

- To feel needed

       We don't want needy and helpless men, but we do like to feel like we are needed for some things

- To feel desired

       Compliments are BIG! If you think we look beautiful, why not say it? Most men have their head too far up their butt to notice when their girl changes something about herself, or even if she takes a little longer to look nice. Notice these things!! 

3. What We Look For:

- Someone that is interested in our personal accomplishments

     A women will hold you down even when you have done her wrong, but when you give her nothing at all, it's guaranteed that she will either leave or cheat. Support her dreams and encourage her because most likely there is some other man willing to support those dreams to the fullest. If you have absolutely nothing to offer this women, at least offer your heart, your words, and back it through actions.

- Jealously kills

      It's ok to feel a little frustrated when a man is staring at your woman, but you should be proud to call that gorgeous woman your significant other. Take pride in the fact that someone else is noticing what you have!   

 Please!Please! Please! DO NOT get angry and break up with your woman for being hardworking and wanting to enjoy time with her friends. If you trust her then you shouldn't be worrying who she will encounter along the course of the night. If you don't trust her, you shouldn't be with her in the first place. 

     We like seeing a little frustration from time to time. Don't be so passive when people are looking or whistling at your woman. Be a man and stand up and claim her as yours! We like to know that you're observing our surroundings. 

- Be Humble

     OH, so you thought you were too cool to open the door for her? Ok, just remember chivalry is not dead.

    She doesn't need to hear about the money you spent at the mall or how much her dinner is going to cost you.

    Not all women desire to be bought, so for all you "ballers" out there keep your pockets light. You attract the wrong women by carrying around your "pocket change" and pulling out 100s everywhere you go. Nothing that a good woman wants in the course of an evening at dinner will run you more that $200. ** That $200 includes a beautiful dinner, movies, flowers, and any other little surprises that pop up along the way!

4. Why Women Cheat

- their man was too busy chasing other women to notice her chasing other men

self explanatory 

- For those women who need tons of attention: their man was too busy with daily activities 

i.e. work, sports, hobbies, etc. 

only strong, dedicated women can conquer this...that's how you know she's a keeper

-Lack of sexual activity or terrible performance

you do not want to ever be the minute man that is discussed over cosmos

- Feeling unappreciated

This is the big one! You want a woman that cooks for you, cleans up after you, washes your clothes, deals with your attitude, and late nights with the boys, but can't say thank you or give her the night off when she's exhausted. 

- Plain fed up!

We may just be tired of your constant need for us to wait on you hand and foot or we're tired of you entertaining other females when you can't even talk to us that way.

This is how you turn a woman bitter! 

If she is the one you love and she's putting her all into keeping you happy, do not go seeking extra attention from the girl you saw at the bar.

Men, please try to get it together!

Spring has Sprung!

This past week I spent my break vacationing in beautiful Miami weather, but it was such a tease because, of course, I had to come back to horrible Jersey weather. I'm so over this snow so why not attempt to welcome spring with some tips for spring/summer. 

1. Cute bathing suit styles that are sure to attract some attention

- Fringe

I've been seeing a few of these cute tops mixed and matched with colorful bottoms all over

They are really awesome because they come in great neon colors or even white so you can pair them with any bottoms

- Cute Prints and Embellishments 

Who doesn't love a sequin or beaded top? 

Designs draw attention to that great body of yours, and not just from men, women love to get ideas off of other women too

- Push-Ups

We all know the saying "fake it 'til you make it"

Do just that with push-up tops, which of course, are flattering on every body type

2. How to Accessorize at the Beach

- Drop the Dangling Earrings PLEASE!

Yes, dangling earrings are gorgeous, but not for the beach

Try rocking some studs, you don't want to be lugging around heavy earrings while you play at the beach

- Long and Short Chained Necklaces

Why not? They draw more attention to your great bust, no ones judging!

Body chains are also great and are evenly distributed over your torso

- Bright Nail Polish

Pastels and Neon's will always be in style during the spring and summer

What about white though? I say YES! 

White Nail Polish is super chic!

Don't forget to take a few pictures and strut your stuff!

Swimsuits for BROAD SHOULDERS!!!

Sadly, like few other girls on this planet, I was blessed (cursed!) with BROAD SHOULDERS! I absolutely hate Hate HATE it, since I cannot change that I should at least do my best to find swimwear that flatters them.

Halter Tops

If you love to show off your shoulders as well as throw some lift into your bust area then shoot for one of these! 

I realize that not everyone is a Victoria Secret Model, however, you can still find tankini's and one-piece suits in  a halter design

One-piece suits also draw attention to your hips especially monokini's 

Jessica Biel is my all time favorite example of women who embrace their broad shoulders

Here you can see in her shoot with GQ magazine she is sporting two different haltered bikini's

Draw Some Attention!

Bring attention to other areas of your body with frilly suits and flattering colors

By doing this you will direct attention towards your hips or bust, allowing those shoulders to sink into background noise

Be Confident 

Remember confidence is the sexiest trait a woman can hold

For every man that dislikes those shoulders, there is a Justin Timberlake waiting to scoop you up!

Golden Goddess!

Lately, the only eye shadow palette I've been using is the Urban Decay Naked 2 which is mainly a shimmery based palette, as opposed to a matte based. Because it comes with both gold tones and silver tones, anyone could use it successfully.

 I put together an easy gold toned tutorial using this palette, later I may add a silver toned tutorial for those of you who favor that rather than gold.

Before applying any shadow to my eye I always prime it. It doesn't matter what primer you use as long as you get one! I know Urban Decay primer potion is around $20, if you find that to be a little unreasonable for such a small amount then I suggest NYX primer, which comes in a little pot and works just as fine for $4.

The first color in the Naked 2 palette that I used was half baked.

I suggest wetting your brush before applying this color because it seems to come out more pigmented and more shimmery when it is wet.

When applying take your wet shadow brush and pat the shadow down on your entire lid to reduce fall out

The next shade I used was snakebite

I just applied this lightly to the outer corner and swept it towards the crease

(also using a wet brush)

I then used a mixture of busted and blackout at the outer corner once more just to give it a darker slightly smokey look

It's your choice to add lashes and a cat eye

For this look I did not add lashes only because I did not have them on hand, if it were an event I would have added lashes to add more of a dramatic look

I finished the look off with my normal foundation routine and a light pink lip which was a mix of Ka'oir Nudity and NYX Pink Lyric

Couture Fashion Week!!!

This was my first time at CFW and I was so excited to see what was in store for fall 2013! When I arrived I noticed some people were dressed down, while others were in outrageous clothes with bright colors, sequins, and loud hats... I was actually expecting to see more people dressed up rather than down. No matter the case, I was fortunate enough to be moved to the front row of the show which allowed me to get these great shots! I was IMPRESSED by the men's suit line this year from Allex Kangala (Angola Native). His incorporation of colors to a traditional men's suit caused a stir, but what really caught my eye was his innovative tuxedo line which included modern patterns, textures, and embellishments to the coat and pants. The ladies of Janerations (USA) did a great job as well creating sweaters for men and sweater dresses for women. Take a look!
